“The Ache Between the Waves"
The Ache Between the Waves"
September 2025 | Huldah Ministries Blog Series
There’s a space the Spirit doesn’t often talk about.
It’s not in the crashing of waves or the roaring of storms.
It’s not in the miraculous moments or the open doors.
It’s in the in-between—the stretch of stillness that lives between the ebb and the flow.
The hush between the waves.
And if you’re not careful, you’ll call it a delay.
You’ll call it abandonment.
You’ll call it silence.
But in truth… it’s an ache.
A divine ache designed to tune your ears to heaven, not the wind.
The ache between the waves is where the soul is tested,
where the Watcher wonders, “Did I miss it?”
where the Prophet whispers, “Was that last wave my last one?”
But it is also where depth is forged.
God often waits until the waters recede before He speaks again.
Because in the ache, we learn to walk by faith, not rhythm.
In the ache, we aren’t performing—we’re pressing in.
And that ache?
It’s proof that you still long for Him.
“Deep calls to deep in the roar of Your waterfalls…”
—Psalm 42:7
The ache between the waves is not a void.
It’s a holy tension.
It is the place where your longing becomes language.
Where tears preach.
Where sighs intercede.
Where silence groans with destiny yet to be born.
If you’re in this place, don’t rush it.
Don’t despise it.
Let it break you open, not break you down.
Because the next wave?
It’s already forming.
And this ache is the sign that you’re still anchored.
🕊️ Selah & Strategy
Sit with your ache this week. Don’t run. Don’t numb. Acknowledge it before God.
Journal this prompt: “What is the ache revealing about what I long for?”
Declare aloud:
“Though I feel the ache, I trust the tide. My next wave is on its way.”
