"The Oil in the Tread"

I used to think the oil only flowed in the upper room.
In the sanctuaries.
On the platforms.
During the laying on of hands or the crescendo of a worship song.

But I’ve come to learn that real oil doesn’t just flow in the visible places.
It drips in the trenches.
It seeps through the treads of obedience.

It’s in the everyday walking…
In the pressing steps when no one is watching.
When you keep showing up.
When you keep praying.
When you keep serving even when your feet are sore, your heart is heavy, and your questions outweigh your confirmations.

“How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news…”
—Romans 10:15

But what about when those feet are cracked?
Calloused?
Bleeding?

What about when your assignment leaves prints in the sand,
and the only thing left behind is a trail of tears and residue from the last pressing?

There is oil in your tread, beloved.

Heaven is marking where you’ve walked, not just where you shouted.
God is pouring oil into your steps, not just your sermons.

And though you may feel unnoticed, your path is being anointed with every forward move.

The oil in your tread is the evidence of a life that walks in spirit and truth.
It marks places you’ve passed through with intercession.
It blesses the ground beneath you.
It becomes a breadcrumb trail for the next weary soul behind you to follow and say,
“Someone has been here… and they carried God.”

🕊️ Selah & Strategy

  • Examine where your feet have been this month—not just physically, but spiritually.

  • Ask the Lord, “Where have I left oil and didn’t even know it?”

  • Pray:
    “Lord, anoint my steps. Let my obedience leave a trail of glory. May every place I walk drip with the fragrance of Your presence.”

  • Declare:
    “There is oil in my tread. My walk is worship.”
